Humidifier Cleaning and Care Checklist
Once before first use, then daily and weekly. Stick it next to your humidifier.
Before first use
- Soak the tank for 1 hour in lukewarm water + 1 tbsp citric acid
- Scrub corners with a long brush; rinse until there is no smell
- Ultrasonic — clean the transducer gently with a soft brush (never scrape)
- Warm mist — descale the heater with citric acid as the manual directs
- Evaporative — check the wick filter replacement schedule
- Stand it upside down to dry completely
Daily

- Empty, rinse and refill with fresh water
- Check indoor humidity is 40–60%
Weekly

- Clean the tank with citric acid (1–2 times a week)
- Wipe the mist outlet and base tray
Never
- Add cleaners, disinfectants, fragrances or essential oils to the water
- Fill it without rinsing out the citric acid thoroughly
- Top up old water with new water
