Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Seasonal Cleaning Checklist
Saving everything for one big clean is exhausting. Split tasks by frequency and ten minutes a day keeps your home in shape.

“I’ll do a big clean this weekend,” and then the weekend is gone. Cleaning feels heavy because there is too much to do at once. Split tasks by frequency and ten minutes a day is enough. Copy the list below into your phone notes or calendar reminders, or download the printable version at the bottom.
Daily (10 minutes)
- Wipe the sink dry and run hot water for 30 seconds after dishes
- Squeegee bathroom walls and mirror after showering
- Take laundry out right away and leave the washer door open
- Pull back the covers for 30 minutes and air the room for 10
- Put things on the floor back where they belong
Weekly (1 hour)
- Vacuum and mop the floors
- Wash bedding and towels
- Steam clean the microwave
- Clean the kitchen sink strainer
- Citric acid on the toilet; wipe sink and faucets
- Check food dates in the fridge (the day before shopping)
- Sanitize cutting boards
- Empty the dishwasher filter
Monthly (half a day)
- Clean the front-load or top-load washer
- Degrease the hood filter and cooktop
- Check grout and silicone for mold
- Descale the kettle
- Clean the dishwasher
- Vacuum the mattress
- Check and replace moisture absorbers and deodorizers
Every season (one weekend day)
- Window screens and tracks
- Deep clean the fridge
- Tidy and deodorize the shoe cabinet
- Deep clean a fabric sofa or condition a leather one
- Descale the shower head
- Swap seasonal clothes and bedding (storage tips)
Extra jobs by season
| Season | Add |
|---|---|
| Spring | Screens and tracks after pollen and dust season, wash winter bedding, clean and store the humidifier |
| Summer | AC filter every 2 weeks, extra bathroom mold care, dehumidify |
| Autumn | Store the AC, check the boiler, clean the humidifier, prepare for condensation |
| Winter | Wipe window condensation each morning, air the rooms 2–3 times a day, change humidifier water daily |
Tips for sticking with it
- One area at a time. Bathroom today, kitchen tomorrow keeps it light.
- Keep tools where you use them. A squeegee in the bathroom and cloths in a kitchen drawer means less effort to start.
- Consistency over perfection. Skipping a weekly task one week is fine. Just pick it up the next.
